We also offer the following specialized programs:
Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program
This program is designed to make it easier for entrepreneurs with disabilities to pursue their business goals and contribute to economic growth within their rural community.
To qualify for the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities program you must:
- Live in the Lesser Slave Lake Region
- Have a disability that impairs your ability to perform at least one of the basic activities of self-employment or entrepreneurship
The program offers:
- Assistance in developing a business plan
- Training through small business courses
- Business loans up to $125,000, the terms of which are specifically tailored to address each individual entrepreneur's needs and are repayable at competitive rates
Loans can be used for:
- Starting or expanding a business
- Applying new technology to your business
- Upgrading facilities and equipment
- Developing marketing and promotions material
- Establishing working capital for anticipated sales increases

Business Training
We provide small business development training to individuals, businesses and clients throughout the Lesser Slave Lake Region. Most courses are offered at Community Futures office/ Tourist Information Center, 2.2 kilometers east of Slave Lake.
Approximately 50 Small Business Training Courses and Workshops are scheduled during the year, through and in conjunction with The Business Link Brown Bag Sessions that we offer, from September to December, and January to April. Examples of some of the services provided are as follows:

Most courses are charged out on a per person or per business basis, in order for small businesses to take advantage of sending several key employees for assistance. The Brown Bag Sessions are generally minimal or no cost.
