Community Economic Development (CED)
Our Community Futures mandate includes:
- To maintain both a positive profile and regular contact with the communities and the public-at-large.
- To be directly accessible and accountable to the general membership.
- To improve the liaison relationship between our organization and all other socioeconomic entities within the Lesser Slave Lake Region (including, but not limited to: Municipal Councils, Economic Development Committees and Officers, Chambers of Commerce, Business Associations, Economic Development Associations, Federal and Provincial Government Agencies).
To assist entities to work together cooperatively to provide an enhanced level of service to the client. - To provide ongoing support and assistance to communities within the region, in a timely manner.
- To assist municipalities via their Economic Development Committees and/or Chambers of Commerce through technical assistance, information sharing and networking.
- To assist in the development and stabilization of the region's Tourism and Industry Sectors.
- To assist municipalities and nonprofit organizations in grant research and preparation.
Our staff and board of directors initiate and facilitate community economic development (CED) programs and projects in order to address the issues of economic development and diversification.
